Nine Miles of Hell and The Snail

Last Sat I ran the farthest I have ever ran 9 miles and it was COLD 12 degrees when we started and for the 1st 5 miles while we headed into the wind my lips were so cold I could not speak with out mumbling. Then the pace heated up and the wind was at our backs making it at least doable. The coolest thing was watching the frost form on our hats and the out side of our tights as the sweat froze on the outside of our gear.

Today I went out for a ride with The Enmark who is on the way to receiving a new nick name "The Snail" he was not to far from hitting the nail on the head when he said that 20 min. would tax his endurance. Maybe with a lot of work and some of my good dope we can get the old Enmark back. I will have to e-mail the good doctor to see which dope will work best for snails.

Leave it to me!

How can anyone crash while running? I keep hearing the quote in my head over and over like in a league of their own movie "There is NO Crashing in running!"

So let me set the scene for you it is the night before Thanksgiving and the temps are in the middle 60's and it is a little damp out but a very nice night for running. I go out for a 5.5 miler and I am cruising along slowly building up my speed and I am nearing the end of the run and clipping off 7:00 min miles when I step on a piece of slick sidewalk.

BL AM! I hit the ground so hard the wind is knocked out of me. and I have mud all over my legs. It only gets better I finish my run (about 1/2 mile) sit down to cool off and notice that my ribs hurt like hell now than the adrenaline is not pumping. long story short I broke two ribs and It hurts to lay down so I get to sleep in the recliner.

Thanksgiving Morn I do a 5K with Alexa and the 1st mile she is killing me as my ribs are really hurting then they loosing up some and I feel o.k. she does the 5k in 30:30 at a 9:56 pace pretty good for an eight year old.

So leave it to me to find a way to crash while running. The Doper is hurt again, not to worry the good Dr. will have me fixed up soon. the good dope is on the way.

5 miles can hurt like hell

Today I took the family to O-Boro so I could run a 5 miler and then we could go out for some moonlite BBQ (It's suppose to be good and famous) Well the moonlite is only open on Sunday's from 10:00 to 3:00 and the race was at 2:00 so that shot the hell out of the orginal plan. So I took them to Texas Roadhouse instead which for me is a sacrafice since something in the wood that they make those places out stops me up and I spend the next 6 hours sneezing and with a stopped up nose.

The 5 miles will it hurt but it was fun at the same time as I acutally had some people to run with this time. finished in 34:57 for just under 7:00 mile pace. and I managed to finish in 13th place so not so bad for the old man. All that and I am not even on the dope Yet?

I did find out that this video has all you need to know about the latest dope

I know Dope and you do not.
